David Sand, CEO and founder (1994)
of Uwin Iwin (Pty) Ltd

B.Com graduate from Rhodes University with a post graduate qualification in Labour Economics and Law (DPLR) from UNISA Business Leadership School. Besides his role as CEO, David serves on several boards and is particularly proud of having co-founded the Youth Employment Index a not for profit organization that has as its mission the development of youth opportunities and youth job creating awareness within the corporate sector.

David currently serves immediate past president for SITE Global and past President of the South African chapter of SITE. David is regarded as a pioneer in the field of online incentive point banking and online reward fulfillment, developing the proprietary software Netuwin.com, for this commercial purpose. A global motivational event and incentive travel expert, having travelled, worked and consulted to a large number of destinations and global corporate accounts.

Gordon Frazer, Chairman of the International Board of Directors of Uwin Iwin International group holdings company

Over many years, Gordon built an incredible career with Microsoft, joining the company in 1995. After being appointed to cover Microsoft’s entire business in the United Kingdom, Gordon’s final position within the company was Chief Operating Officer for Microsoft Greater China Region; here, he was responsible for all of Microsoft’s commercial sales, marketing and services across the country.

After exiting Microsoft a year ago, Gordon returned to South Africa to fulfil one of his life-long dreams as a gentleman wine farmer in beautiful Franschhoek.

Deena Chetty, Chief Strategy Officer

As a commercial lawyer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in leading and managing listed and unlisted multi-business units across a diverse set of sectors in southern Africa, Deena is fiercely passionate about making a meaningful and lasting contribution towards a better South Africa and a better Africa.

Deena is certainly well suited to the position of Chief Strategy Officer at Uwin Iwin International, and holds a BA (Law) LLB (Wits), MBA (Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria), and EDP (IMD University, Lausanne, Switzerland). Moreover, his achievements and experience, professionally, are extensive and incredibly impressive, and include: Recognition by the World Economic Forum as a Global Leader for Tomorrow (GLT); member of YPO/WPO; CEO of Barloworld Namibia; played a key role in the development and implementation of an effective corporate strategy for Barloworld Limited; played a key role in restructuring the Barloworld Pension Fund to a Provident Fund; and many more outstanding credentials.

Manus Geyer, International Group CFO

Manus has an exceptional record, and his experience will prove invaluable to our strategic plans both at home and abroad in our international offices. Manus is a qualified accountant, being awarded his CA (SA) in 1997. His most recent experience is remarkable, and includes an appointment as MD of Kagiso Treasury Solutions. Manus then served as Financial Director at Kagiso Securities Limited. Manus’s most recent, and perhaps most impressive, post was at SASFIN where he was Head of Treasury.

Stuart Higgs, Managing Director & IT Director

Stuart has been in the IT industry since the mid-1990s, successfully running his own business for the majority of that time and working with small and large clients alike.  His systems have been used in the banking, telecoms and direct marketing sectors. Stuart has been working closely with Uwin Iwin for over a decade in developing and managing the rewards platform Netuwin.com, as well as leading Uwin Iwin’s technology strategy. We welcomed Stuart as a full-time member of our team of directors early in 2011.

Maud Botten, Sales Director

Maud has been in the sales and customer service industry since the early 1990’s.  She obtained a National Diploma in Travel & Tourism from the Cape Technicon in 1995, majoring in Business Economics and Marketing.  Her natural passion for sales and customer service has allowed her to build her career on solid sales and marketing experience in various industries. Maud joined Uwin Iwin as Business Development Manager in 2011 and immediately started elevating our marketing speak to incorporate digital and social media platforms. Her strong CRM skillset and tenacity has allowed the company to forge strong relationships with prominent blue chip clients and venture into new business opportunities.  She constantly seeks out new business opportunities to challenge and showcase our dynamic business.  She is focused on improving our clients’ experience holistically, and continuously seeks opportunities to improve the experience for our program participants and clients.  Maud was promoted to board level early 2014.

Kyle Van Niekerk, Operations Director

Kyle  joined the Uwin Iwin team, as an Account Manager, in 2006. Over the last 10 years, she has had the honour of pioneering many South African incentive firsts, including launching the first debit card incentive in 2008, as well as the first daily pay-out incentive in 2012. She graduated from UNISA with a B.Com in Business Management in 2001 and kicked off her career in the financial and legal fields.  Kyle has been responsible for managing many of our high profile accounts over the years, with a firm grounding in the telecommunication and technology sector.

Gustav Lammerding, Marketing Director

Gustav is a seasoned Brand Development Specialist with an Honours Degree in Brand Management and 13 years Advertising and Marketing Experience. He has worked on major brands like Steers, Mini Cooper, BMW, Mercedes-benz and Lafarge Cement. He joined the team in September 2014 and along with his team, has within 2 years managed to re-energise the Uwin Iwin brand by creating a structured corporate identity and implementing a new communication strategy. This included enhancing the quality of sales toolkits, thought leadership, social media exposure and international communication.

Sonja Knowles, Finance Director

Sonja has shined above the rest since her school years with achievements such as deputy head girl, highest achiever in Business studies, Mathematics and Economics.  During her financial career she has been leading the finance teams of various multi-national organisations in industries such as Financial services, Engineering, Educational publishing, Telecommunication, Courier/Freight and Entertainment/Travel/Events for over 18 years. She obtained both her B.Compt (UNISA) and B.Compt Honours/CTA (University of Natal) during 2001 and completed her SAICA articles between 1998 and 2001.  Sonja’s strengths rest in the ability to improve financial operations, impact business growth, improve treasury management and maximizing profits through strict financial management, cost monitoring, internal controls and productivity/efficiency improvements. Her career peaked during her employment with TNT couriers where she was elected out of an approximate 300 employees to attend an Achievers Career Programme in Dubai and this has set her path into the role of Finance & Human Resources Director at Uwin Iwin.
